The medical care of foreigners, both legal and illegal, is complex. Indeed, it faces several barriers, one of the most important being the language barrier . Existing tools that aim to overcome this difficulty have certain limitations. They lack an intermediate between the written translation and the interpreter.

TRADUCMED (http://www.traducmed.fr) is a website created to allow medical personnel to assess a situation in the absence of translators and to evaluate medical, social and administrative emergencies. This site also provides a means of explaining the process of the examination to the patient. It provides an audible translation of medically related questions and an explanation of the medical care to be given. It can be used to help consulting doctors as part of permanent access to health care, in the free consultation centres, in detention centres, etc.

This site is not intended to replace a translator, but it may, in certain situations, accelerate and improve the medical care of patients, giving the doctor an idea of their overall medical state, that he may decide on the care needed and offer each patient the best possible advice.
